Christa Pike is conscious and speaking after failed execution, attorneys say


Christa Pike, who survived a botched execution attempt last week in Tennessee, is now conscious and speaking, her attorneys said Tuesday afternoon.

Tennessee officials attempted to execute Pike by lethal injection on Wednesday. Pike, 50, had been sentenced to death decades earlier for her role in killing Colleen Slemmer in 1995.
