Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya going all-inclusive as of today.

Two of Hilton’s flagship luxury resorts in Mexico — the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya — are becoming all-inclusives as of today, Oct. 1, 2026, and the Waldorf Astoria will become an adults-only resort as of Jan. 10, 2027.

As of today, both resorts will transition to an all-inclusive model, according to a press release shared by Hilton earlier today.

These mark the first Waldorf Astoria and Conrad properties in the world to officially become all-inclusive resorts, though they and others have offered all-inclusive packages as rate options in the past. Presumably, the success of those offerings is part of what is leading to this change.

“Today’s travelers want the freedom and ease of an all-inclusive resort, paired with the distinctive depth, personalization and sense of place they expect from Hilton’s award-winning luxury brands,” said Sylvia Scholey, vice president and global head of all-inclusive and resorts at Hilton.

Here are the other details we know so far.

The 173-room Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya opened back in November 2022 and quickly became a popular option for Hilton Honors members looking for sun-splashed getaways on Mexico’s east coast thanks to its luxurious rooms, varied restaurants and gardenlike spa.

This announcement heralds two major changes to the resort. First, that guests will no longer have to pay extra for in-room dining or to dine at most venues on-site, including:

  • Malpeque
  • Chaya
  • Peacock Alley
  • Ja’O
  • Pool Bar

However, certain specialty meals and events will presumably cost extra.

Guests can also expect unlimited premium beverages, artisanal cocktails and sommelier-selected wines with an open bar from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Additionally, there will be complimentary daily activities, access to the fitness center and cultural experiences on offer.

The included activities are grouped into categories like “Awaken your senses” for sunrise fitness classes and “Artisan Journeys” for craft workshops.

What’s more, daily refreshed minibars will also be included, as will private round-trip transfers from Cancun International Airport (CUN) for eligible direct bookings. All told, you could be getting a lot for that nightly rate.

Speaking of nightly rates, they currently appear to be unavailable on the Hilton site, but we’ll update them here once they’re back online.

As for the other big piece of news, the resort will also be going adults-only, meaning guests must be 18 or older. Don’t worry, you can still stay at the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya with kids or the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort.

However, folks with existing reservations at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will be honored according to the plan and terms confirmed at booking — so if you already made a reservation at the hotel for dates after it goes all-inclusive, you can get the extra inclusions and should not have to pay extra.

More importantly, though, for travelers with reservations that include guests under 18 and arrival dates on or after Jan. 10, 2027, the resort is supposed to work with each guest to identify alternative accommodation options and provide personalized assistance throughout the process. So, don’t wait to call Hilton to figure out an alternative (and email us to let us know how it goes!).

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya goes all-inclusive with an adults-only section

The nearby Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya opened in January 2022 and, though it has 349 rooms and suites, feels more like a secluded getaway than some of the other megaresorts on the Riviera Maya.

Guests will be able to dine at the following restaurants as part of the all-inclusive rate:

  • Kengai
  • Ukai
  • Chiringuitos
  • Arbolea
  • Maratea
  • Cafetal
  • Ultramar
  • Chaak Bar

Other experiences will cost extra.

Those who directly book stays of four or more consecutive nights will also be entitled to:

  • Airport transportation
  • Choice of one bespoke wellness, nature or family experience or excursion

Like at the Waldorf, the Conrad will offer thematic groupings for included activities, ranging from “Awaken” sunrise yoga to “After dark” live music and cultural showcases.

Finally, the resort will also unveil a dedicated adults-only experience called Ceiba Club with special access to an adults-only pool and beach, the Autor restaurant (which serves contemporary Mexican cuisine), the Ceiba Lounge and Carbon Restaurant.

As with the Waldorf, room rates are not available for the moment, possibly while Hilton transitions its pricing and booking system to the new all-inclusive rates, but check back here for updates on paid and points pricing.

In a bit of good news, Hilton says that existing reservations at the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will be honored in accordance with the plan and terms confirmed at the time of booking.

Bottom line

There’s no doubt about it: The all-inclusive trend in hotels is continuing full steam ahead. That’s true for budget-conscious travelers as well as those booking luxury experiences, as everyone is looking to squeeze as much value as possible from higher and higher nightly rates.

The transition of these two flagship Hilton luxury resorts to the all-inclusive model and the fact that the Waldorf Astoria is going adults-only are both interesting signals of where Hilton might be heading next as it diversifies its already wide-ranging hotel portfolio.
