Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Royal Edition Is Now Available to Preorder for Switch 2

Nintendo’s latest September Direct had quite an exciting announcement for fans of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: the game is getting a Royal Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 next year. While its official release date is unfortunately still up in the air, preorders have already started going live at select retailers, so you can secure a copy way ahead of time (see it here at Amazon for $59.99).

As of the time of writing, it appears only Amazon has the new Switch 2 edition up to preorder, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for other retailers as they drop their preorder pages over time. It’s worth mentioning that this version of the game on Nintendo Switch 2 comes as a Game-key card. That means the game is not included on the cartridge. Putting the cartridge in your Switch 2 lets you download and play the game. However, unlike a digital game, you can sell this one.

What Is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

Released last year, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a story-driven action RPG that’s the sequel to 2018’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It was one of our favorite video games of 2025 – and even a contender for our selection of the best RPG of last year – with reviewer Len Hafer giving it a 9/10 score and writing: “Armed with excellent melee combat and an exceptional story, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one part sequel and one part coronation, bringing a lot of the original’s ideas to fruition.”
