Annie Dillard, Pulitzer-winning author of ‘Pilgrim at Tinker Creek,’ dies at 81


Still in her 20s and possessed of a curious eye and sensitive spirit, Annie Dillard set out beneath the trees along Tinker Creek in southwestern Virginia and emerged with a best-selling book that made her one of the most honored and beloved writers of her time.
