SkyTeam carrier Delta Air Lines is doubling down in the City of Angels, with five new nonstop routes from Los Angeles International Airport(LAX). The airline recently announced that it would connect Los Angeles to Monterey (MRY), bringing the Atlanta-based carrier’s new route plans to five destinations between October and next April.

It is highly expected that the airline will announce even more new nonstop flights from Los Angeles; the five already known include Manila, Vancouver, Newark, Palm Beach, and now Monterey. This takes the airline’s total number of routes from LAX to 64, and most importantly, adds two additional international links to Canada and the Philippines.

Nonstop Flights To Vancouver And Palm Beach From November

While there may be tension between the United States and Canada in the midst of a trade war, this has not stopped Delta from launching a nonstop service from Los Angeles to Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The airline previously served this route up until 2018; however, from November 21, Delta will fly the route two times daily with its Airbus A319-100. There’s plenty of competition on this route, with other airlines including Air Canada, Flair, United Airlines, and WestJet flying year-round, while American Airlines adds a seasonal link.

On the same day that Delta resumes flying to Vancouver, the airline will also begin serving Palm Beach, now named President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT). The airline will be the only carrier serving the route year-round; however, it will face direct competition seasonally from JetBlue.

Flying High To Monterey

Recently announced, Delta will take off between Los Angeles and Monterey twice daily from December 19, and will be operated by a SkyWest Embraer E175. These aircraft are perfect for short regional domestic hops, such as this, with a total of 76 seats onboard, with 20 in First Class, 20 in Comfort+, and another 44 in Main Cabin.

As Monterey gains a new nonstop link to Los Angeles, it will be the only carrier on the route, a trip that can otherwise take more than five hours by car to cover the 320 miles (514 km). Delta will also launch nonstop services from Monterey to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) with a once-daily service on the same day as the Los Angeles link begins.

Delta’s decision to add nonstop flights to Monterey comes in the midst of the peak holiday travel season. Leisure demand to Monterey at this time of year swelters, as tourists flock to the likes of Carmel by the Sea, Pebble Beach and Big Sur. This coastal destination will be popular for those connecting via these key Delta hubs to this picturesque part of the California coast.

Manila And Newark With Delta From Los Angeles In 2027

Rounding out the new five routes with Delta from Los Angeles is its new service to the Philippines. Delta will begin nonstop daily flights with the Airbus A350-900 from March, a route that otherwise has been dominated by Filipino flag carrier Philippine Airlines. Delta will be the only US airline with nonstop flights to Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) from Los Angeles.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is last on the menu, with Delta adding a twice-daily Airbus A321neo service from April 12. The route sees year-round flights with Alaska and United, while seasonal flights are added across the summer with JetBlue. Delta’s year-round flights will depart from Los Angeles in the early morning and late evening, with the latter being a red-eye service flying overnight.

With a total of 64 routes from Los Angeles, Delta continues to maintain its position as the largest airline by market share. According to The Frequent Flyer, Delta served more than 13.5 million passengers between June 2025 and May 2026, representing 18.6% of all flights.
