Netflix announced Sunday that production has officially wrapped in Atlanta on their upcoming series Scooby-Doo: Origins. The streaming service also released a new photo of the titular good boy, which can be seen in the image gallery below.
Scooby-Doo: Origins marks the first time a real Great Dane has portrayed the beloved canine member of the Mystery Inc. gang.
“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” according to the official synopsis.
“Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
Scooby-Doo: Origins stars Mckenna Grace as “Daphne Blake,” Tanner Hagen as “Shaggy Rogers,” Abby Ryder Fortson as “Velma Dinkley,” Maxwell Jenkins as “Fred Jones.”
Other cast members include Paul Walter Hauser, Rusty Schwimmer, Peter Macon, Jona Xiao, Dani Deetté, Elysée Sanvillé, Alex Isles, Avery Kristen Pohl, Pamela Mitchell, Ross Kimball, Sara Gilbert, Wynn Everett, Sauriyan Sapkota, Bruce McGill, André Benjamin, and Cathy Moriarity.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as executive producers and showrunners.
Executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman (via Berlanti Productions and its overall deal with Warner Bros. Television), André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson (via Midnight Radio), and Toby Haynes (EP/Episode 101 Director).
Scooby-Doo: Origins will launch globally in 2027.
