Beeware Of The Blossom

We have a Rose of Sharon bush growing up alongside the steps to our back deck, and its flowers are absolutely gorgeous this year.

I do have to warn you though, if you are tempted to take in the aroma, beeware of placing your nose anywhere near the blossom as this bush is a bee magnet!

There is a constant buzz of activity, as bees climb into the innermost part of the flower…

…and then emerge covered in pollen confetti!

Sometimes, a scuffle ensues, as two try to crawl into the same place…

…but eventually one gives up and moves to an empty blossom.

These beespeckled beeauties really are fun to beehold!

Okay…I simply can’t resist wordplay! Would you beelieve me if I said that I promise to beehave better in my next post?!?
