Namibia won the toss and chose to bowl vs South Africa

Hermann and Esterhuzien will front up first after Namibia opted to put South Africa in to bat, in the hope of taking advantage of any early moisture and bounce. Young seamers Jack Brassell and Max Heingo will accompany Ruben Trumpelmann in the pace department with Bernard Scholtz, Jan Balt and captain Gerhard Erasmus to do spin duties.

Namibia made an interesting change to their top two. After Jan Frylinck and Louren Steenkamp bossed the T20I tri-series, they were moved to No.3 and 4 respectively with Malan Kruger and Alexander Busing-Volschenck carded as openers. Erasmus will bat at No. 5.

South Africa have an entirely new-look batting line-up from their usual ODI set-up, which includes both Hermann brothers, Dewald Brevis at No.4 and both Tony de Zorzi and Jason Smith. Corbin Bosch has been selected ahead of his brother Eathan, but there is every chance of a family affair later in the series. They included two spinners in stand-in captain Bjorn Fortuin and offspinner Prenelan Subrayen.
