Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro ‘Crewnshaw’ Release Date JF4648-700

Foot Locker’s Crenshaw Rec store in Los Angeles officially opened its doors Saturday and kicked things off with a bang. The community-focused space, developed in partnership with Nike, Inc., celebrated its opening with a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, community swap meet and unannounced exclusive sneaker drops.

Included in Saturday’s product offering was a Foot Locker-exclusive Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Crenshaw. The pair features a Midwest Gold/University Blue colorway which is reminiscent of the Los Angeles Lakers’ throwback Minneapolis Lakers uniforms. The newly surfaced pair’s color is split nearly half-and-half, with light blue filling in the front portion of the shoe before shifting to a bold gold yellow shade.

Along with the Kobe 3 Low Protro, a Nike Book 2 Crenshaw colorway was also made available at the Crenshaw Rec opening.

In addition to Nike, Inc., Foot Locker tapped late rapper Nipsey Hussle’s The Marathon Brand, Los Angeles-based designer Gavin Mathieu of Supervsn Studios, Crenshaw High School and local vendors to offer an authentic expression of the neighborhood.

The Crenshaw Rec by Foot Locker is located at 3222 W Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles. According to Foot Locker, the new retail venture is the “first expression” of the concept and that it will work with Nike, Inc. to offer more neighborhood-focused experiences in the future.

It’s not yet been confirmed if the Foot Locker-exclusive Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro or Nike Book 2 Crenshaw sneakers will receive wider releases, but FN will update readers as more information is announced. The style code for the Kobe 3 Low Protro is JF4648-700 and its retail price is $190.
