Lions provide injury update on RB Isiah Pacheco


On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked for an update on running back Isiah Pacheco’s status.

“Yeah, it’ll be a little bit. He’s got a little MCL sprain. We feel good about that. We feel pretty good about him being ready to go, certainly when the season gets here. So, I’m not concerned about that,” Campbell said.

It’s good news to hear that Campbell and the Lions anticipate Pacheco being ready to go for the Lions’ season opener on Sunday, Sept. 13 against the New Orleans Saints. But, Pacheco’s return and workload throughout training camp and the Lions’ preseason slate is in question.

Detroit inked Isiah Pacheco this offseason after it dealt David Montgomery away to the Houston Texans. Pacheco rushed for 462 yards and one score on 118 carries last season.

In his NFL career, Pacheco has run for 2,537 yards and 14 touchdowns. Pacheco was limited to just seven games played in 2024 due to a fractured fibula. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound back also missed a month last season with a knee issue.
