Wicker bags: They’re not just a summer fling. As the warm-weather season comes to a close, you’d normally start seeing fewer woven bags and more suede ones, but not this year. I have a strong feeling that picnic-like purses will continue to be popular well into fall—peaking on October 23, to be exact. That’s when Alexander Skarsgård and Olivia Colman’s admittedly very strange new film, Wicker, comes out in theaters. The movie trailer officially has the entire internet talking—oh hi, Ikea!—so we figured we’d throw our (wicker) hats into the ring, too.

Skarsgård is no stranger to a risky (and risqué) red carpet look, but his new, intricately woven on-screen character takes the cake as his most daring look yet. What’s the movie actually about, you might ask? “On the outskirts of a village by the sea,” the official synopsis reads, “lives a fisherwoman; smelly, single, and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her stuffy, small-minded neighbors, she commissions herself a husband to be made from wicker. In an otherwise conservative town, this unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy, and chaos.” Intriguing, indeed.
