Coyote vs. Acme director Dave Green confirmed to IGN that the film is coming to Blu-ray, along with some hilarious outtakes that he described as “not PG-rated.”

We got the chance to chat with Green, as well as Coyote vs. Acme star Lana Condor, at San Diego Comic-Con, where the two gushed about the hilarious moments that happened when John Cena and Will Forte were on set interacting with the Looney Tunes.

“John is an amazing improviser,” Green said. “The camera would keep rolling and he would just love to entertain a room of background actors and make everyone laugh. When you don’t call ‘cut,’ there is minutes and minutes of stuff that is not PG-Rated.”

“Maybe for the Blu-ray,” IGN host Tom Jorgensen replied. “Fingers crossed!”

“I can actually make you that promise,” Green answered. “It’ll be on there.”

In an age where physical media is gradually being phased out in favor of digital downloads, the idea of owning a tangible object that you can play or watch without an internet connection is becoming more and more coveted.

Perhaps the greatest example of this is Sony’s decision to stop printing physical game discs starting January 2028 — a choice that has left the gaming community in disarray, scrambling to get their hands on PlayStation’s final physical releases before the cutoff date.

While some big releases are confirmed for a full physical release, others, like the highly anticipated GTA 6, will have a digital download only (though you can still buy the box that the code comes in, if that counts).

Coyote vs. Acme releases in theaters on August 28, 2026 — a welcome development after it was notably shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023 for a $30 billion tax write-off. Now audiences can see the movie in its entirety, along with a few R-rated special features when it comes to Blu-ray.
