Minister Fraser to hold press conference on major Criminal Code reforms to protect Canadians that are now law


July 6, 2026 – Surrey, British Columbia – Department of Justice Canada

The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, will hold a press conference to highlight the three pieces of legislation passed in June to reform the Criminal Code, strengthening bail and sentencing laws, addressing court delays, and protecting children from predators.

Also in attendance will be:

  • Ernie Klassen, Member of Parliament for South Surrey—White Rock
  • Sukh Dhaliwal, Member of Parliament for Surrey Newton

  • Chief Constable Harj Sidhu, Delta Police Department
