Clock ticking, Black leaders in Memphis dig in on voter turnout


MEMPHIS — The Rev. Earle Fisher sat alone at a makeshift desk as the fading daylight filtered into the sanctuary of Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church.

It is where he has written op-eds, filmed social media videos, helped organized rallies, dashed off hundreds of emails and made countless calls — all in a crusade to get the Black residents of Memphis to the polls.
