New York City police fatally shot an apparently emotionally disturbed woman after she allegedly stabbed two people in Times Square, police said.
One of the victims, a woman, died at the hospital from her injuries, according to police. The other had life-threatening injuries, police said.

The stabbings occurred at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue. The woman allegedly then fled north toward the NYPD substation, where police confronted her, authorities said.
Police officials stressed the woman appears emotionally disturbed and the incident is not terror-related.
