Chase has once again brought back a popular Marriott Bonvoy promotion for Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) cardholders, giving eligible members three months of complimentary Gold Elite status and the opportunity to extend it through February 2028 by completing three eligible paid nights.
Here’s what you should know about this promotion.
Gold Elite status offer
Sapphire Reserve cardmembers can visit the benefits dashboard on the Chase website to enroll in this Gold Elite status offer.
Enrollment is open from July 1 to Sept. 30, and you’ll keep Gold Elite status for three months from enrolling in the promotion. You should usually see the status in your Marriott account within three business days of enrolling in this promotion.
Gold Elite status includes perks like enhanced room upgrades (when available), late checkout (when available) and bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on eligible stays.
If you complete at least three paid nights on qualifying rates during your three-month status trial period, you’ll keep Gold Elite status through February 2028. (For clarification, nights for which you’ve redeemed a free night award or Marriott points won’t qualify for this promotion.)

Try to time your registration for this offer to coincide with when you can stay at Marriott properties. The period during which you can stay three nights to qualify for Gold Elite status through February 2028 is based on when you enroll in the promotion.
Finally, this offer won’t help if you already have Gold Elite or higher status. So, you’ll only want to enroll in this offer if you have no status or Silver Elite status.

Other easy ways to earn Marriott elite status
This offer is worth considering if you have the Sapphire Reserve and don’t stay with Marriott properties frequently. However, earning and maintaining Marriott elite status via other credit cards is also easy.
For example, you can get Gold Elite status with Marriott as an ongoing perk of these cards:
*Enrollment is required with the American Express Platinum and American Express Business Platinum cards.

Plus, you can even get Platinum Elite status just for being a cardmember of the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card.
Finally, remember that you can earn up to 40 elite night credits per year from up to one personal and one business Marriott Bonvoy card.
For example, from combining the benefits of my Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card (see rates and fees) and Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex, I get 30 elite night credits each year. This means I only need to accrue 20 more elite night credits each calendar year for Platinum Elite status or 45 more elite night credits each calendar year for Titanium Elite status.

Bottom line
If you’re a Sapphire Reserve cardholder without Marriott Gold Elite status, this is one of the easiest opportunities you’ll see all year to earn it. Just remember to enroll by Sept. 30 and complete three eligible paid nights during your three-month trial to keep the status through February 2028.
If you aren’t already a cardholder, the Sapphire Reserve currently has a solid welcome offer of 100,000 bonus points, earned after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
