The Oscar-nominated “Chicago” actress and recording star wore a look from the designer’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection. Atop a sleek black dress, the centerpiece of Latifah’s look was the billowing long-sleeve jacket she wore.

Crafted with a bubbled quality, cinched elements and glorious volume, Kerner’s design merged drama with intricate details. A textural quality overcame the entirety of the black fabric, emphasized wholly by the sheer mass of the jacket.

Despite the volume, the piece wasn’t overwhelming. Cinching at the waist gave the piece a true silhouette, while it provided the illusion of a larger, more encumbered quality when Latifah brought her hands together.

Keeping the jacket the centerpiece of her look, the “Girls Trip” star accessorized her attire with a set of gold dangling earrings. Her hair was braided and worn in a high bun atop the crown of her head. A pop of a red lipstick added color to the actress and rapper’s overall look.

Volume is a key theme of some of Kerner’s most recent designs — especially the ones high-profile figures have gravitated towards.

Along with Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson showcased her appreciation for the German fashion designer’s creations in January 2026 at the MusiCares’ Mariah Carey Tribute, at which the “Dream Girls” Oscar-winner wore a voluminous spring 2025 blue gown with an exaggerated textured coat.

Hosted by comedian and internet personality Druski, the 2026 BET Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night and honored the breakout Black creatives of the last year. The annual awards show celebrates writers, musicians, filmmakers and more, honoring and uplifting Black culture. Singer Lauryn Hill was honored with The Living Legend Icon Award, while “One Battle After Another” Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor was the recipient of the Icon of the Year Award.
