Germany 4-1 Curaçao: Germany wants more goals


60′ – Nathaniel Brown just misses out on a 50/50 ball inside the Curaçao box.

54′ – Aleksandar Pavlovic shoots from distance. Ball goes over.

50′ – Nmecha gets on the end of a short corner and nearly scored.

47′ – TOR! Jamal Musiala scores from a tight angle off a Joshua Kimmich through pass.

46′ – The second half has kicked off!

Halftime Observations

  • Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz both look much better than in the last game against the USMNT

  • Counters and defending in general is still an area for improvement for Germany

  • Curaçao equalizing was a massive moment for them.

45+5′ – Half time.

45+4′ – TOR! Germany get a penalty after Nmecha went down inside the box. Kai Havertz dispatches the penalty.

45′ – Four minutes added on.

42′ – Jamal Musiala makes one too many passes and the chance ends up not a goal.

38′ – TOR! Schlotterbeck tries again from a corner and he does score!

33′ – Sane shoots it straight at the goalkeeper.

28′ – Nico Schlotterbeck’s header is saved.

21′ – Goal. Curaçao equalize from out of nowhere.

19′ – Curaçao find themselves inside the German third, but end up firing their shot well high. Germany race down the other end and Kai Havertz couldn’t meet the cross.

14′ – Wirtz tries curling one from distance, but his shot goes wide of the far post.

11′ – Leroy Sane holds on to the ball too long and couldn’t get a shot off.

9′ – Nmecha nearly scores another with a shot from outside the box.

6′ – TOR! Felix Nmecha plays a 1-2 with Florian Wirtz, who returns it to Nmecha who shoots first time to put Germany ahead!

3′ – Germany get inside the box but the final touch was lacking and the ball is cleared.

Kickoff! – We are off!

Lineups are out! Manuel Neuer is back in goal for Germany’s first match at the World Cup!
