“Idiotic”: United Airlines’ Scott Kirby Rules Out Future Mergers After American’s Rebuff



Scott Kirby has backed down on any potential United Airlines merger/acquisition for the foreseeable future, just weeks after he suggested that a tie-up with American Airlines would work. According to Reuters, Kirby spoke at the recent Bernstein investor conference, noting that American would be the only sensible choice for an airline merger; however, United did not have a willing partner.
