Delta Air Lines Adds Free Inflight Drinks As Permanent Perk For T-Mobile Members


Passengers on Delta Air Lines flights who are T-Mobile customers will enjoy a new perk as part of the airline’s Member Month celebration. T-Mobile has announced that, for those travelers on Delta flights, they will receive a complementary inflight drink onboard. This benefit is set to be offered not just for the month, but as a long-term benefit for the mobile carriers’ customers.

The complementary flight will be on offer on board participating Delta flights, and is part of T-Mobile’s tenth anniversary of T-Mobile Tuesdays. While onboard a Delta flight, passengers already enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and spirits in its premium cabins, this benefit will be rolled out ot the main cabin traveler, who would usually be required to pay.

Starting soon, a complimentary premium drink will be eligible for all T-Mobile customers traveling with Delta, and while the airline has yet to confirm the redemption process onboard, as suggested by Upgraded Points, you will likely access the complimentary drink through benefits in the T-Life app by linking your SkyMiles frequent flier account.

This new and exciting benefit for when traveling with one of the country’s largest airlines, is part of T-Mobile’s Tuesday’s tenth anniversary, and as part of the new initiative between the mobile provider and Delta, the partners are hosting a special members-only event in New York, which will feature American singer, rapper, and producer, T-Pain.

Simple Flying reached out to Delta for comment on the new benefit and expected launch date, but an airline spokesperson was not immediately available.

Delta and T-Mobile have been partners for several years, with the airline already working with the mobile service provider to support free in-flight WiFi. This partnership kicked off in January 2023, with free onboard WiFi for Delta SkyMiles members. This was further supported with the airline selecting T-Mobile as its preferred mobility partner and moving a total of 60,000 of its employees’ workflows on the carrier’s 5G network.

The new benefit, where passengers will be able to claim a free premium beverage onboard, will be an exciting addition for those in the main cabin who would otherwise be required to pay for the drink. The new benefit is part of T-Mobile’s wider month of celebrations, with the service provider also offering fuel discounts, travel sweepstakes, and other perks.

Every Tuesday, T-Mobile shares special offers via its T-Life app, including discounts, sweepstakes, and other special offers. It is likely through this app that Delta passengers will find details on how to redeem the free drink onboard once it officially launches.

For Delta and T-Mobile, this latest offering might not be enough to sway a traveler’s booking choice when it comes down to price; however, the added perks are sure to add value to the onboard experience, and, for those who are familiar with T-Life, will likely be quick to take advantage of this new perk on their next Delta flight. T-Mobile has encouraged its customers to keep a close eye on the T-Life app for when the new benefit officially takes off.

Delta is one of hte major airlines in the United States, and is based out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The airline has operated for more than a century, and is a key partner of the SkyTeam airline alliance. The carrier operates flights across six continents, with more than 5,400 daily flights across its mainline and subsidary airlines. 325 destinations in 52 countries are served with the airline’s fleet of close to 1,000 aircraft.

T-Mobile is one of the largest wireless communication providers on earth, and in the United States, serves more than 140 million customers. It is majority-owned by German conglomerate Deutsche Telekom. For T-Mobile customers, they will be able to redeem their complimentary premium beverage onboard by linking their SkyMiles account through the T-Life app.
