ECB to Act Sooner Rather Than Later, Pereira Tells Negócios


“It is extremely important that we act quickly when there are signs that prices are going to rise, that we expect things to improve, and that there won’t be some kind of second-order effect by some miracle,” said Pereira, who also heads Portugal’s central bank. “I am more concerned about the issue of inflation than a significant economic slowdown.”
