In 2026, Qatar Airways claimed the title for World’s Best Business Class for the fifth consecutive year at the annual Skytrax awards, with the carrier’s Qsuite product remaining one of the most private and elegant business class options in the sky. Available onboard most of Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft, Qsuite is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration with a unique layout featuring both forward and rear-facing seats. This layout allows for private personal suites along the windows, while the center section of the aircraft can be turned into double or even quad suites by lowering certain privacy partitions, providing tremendous flexibility for both solo travelers and those flying as a group.

Looking more closely at the seat itself, Qsuite features a generous 79-inch (200 cm) long lie-flat bed with approximately 21.5 inches (55 cm) of seat width in the standard configuration. Additionally, each suite features ample storage for snacks, personal devices, water bottles, and anything in between. Touch controls line the dark grey seats with Qatar Airways’ signature velvet accents, brought together by the 21.5 inch (55 cm) touchscreen display. However, what has always distinguished Qsuite is its sliding privacy door, the first in business class history when it launched in 2017, providing a true sense of seclusion from the rest of the cabin.

Additionally, Qatar Airways onboard service remains among the best in the world. With dine-on-demand service available to all Qsuite passengers, providing restaurant-quality meals at 30,000 feet, along with complimentary pajamas, slippers, pillows, a mattress topper, a blanket, and more, Qatar works to make Qsuite feel more like first class than business class. Further, Qatar Airways has begun to introduce its Qsuite Next Gen product on the Airbus A350 following delays to the Boeing 777X program. The Next Gen product brings a 1.5 inch increase to seat width, along with upgrading the touchscreen display to a 4K OLED screen and revamped finishes and in-seat technology throughout.

Coming in second place, the Singapore Airlines business class product continues to represent classic Singaporean luxury, even with an older business class product. The airline’s current business class product is available on the Boeing 777-300ER, Airbus A380, and select Airbus A350 aircraft. Installed in a 1-2-1 layout, the Vantage XL seat offers an amazing 28 inches (71 cm) of seat width, complemented by the 78-inch flat bed. Interestingly, rather than the seat sliding down to become a bed, the inflight crew will rotate the entire seat downwards, revealing the bed on the backside of the seat. For travelers flying Singapore Airlines today, the current wide-seat product remains one of the most comfortable business-class beds in the sky.

After settling in, passengers can enjoy Singapore’s world-class dining options, bringing both Asian and Western-inspired flavors to every dish. Each seat also features an 18-inch (46 cm) HD display to enjoy Singapore Airlines’ inflight entertainment options. Notably, however, Singapore’s current business class does not feature a closing door, although passengers who have flown with Singapore have noted an incredible sense of privacy at each seat despite the absence of a privacy door.

Looking to the future, Singapore Airlines is preparing to introduce a next-generation business class suite across its Airbus A350 fleet and future Boeing 777-9s, with the seat expected to debut later in 2026. The new product is expected to feature sliding doors, expanded personal space, and fully updated technology, including 4K screens and Bluetooth audio. The layout will remain the same, with suites arranged in a staggered configuration to maximize cabin space. With Sydney and London historically being the first two destinations to receive new Singapore Airlines premium products, it is expected that the carrier’s new business class suites will fly there first as well, before expanding to the rest of the world.

When All Nippon Airways introduced “The Room” in 2019, it immediately set a new benchmark for business class comfort and privacy. Designed to reflect the Japanese principle of omotenashi, selfless and anticipatory hospitality, the suite broke away from the narrow, conventional business class seat by offering an impressive 35-inch (89 cm) width, making it one of the widest business class seats in the sky. The result feels less like a business class seat and more like a private lounge, with a sofa-inspired design that prioritizes space, relaxation, and versatility.

Like Qsuite, each suite features fully closing privacy doors, as well as a large 24-inch 4K entertainment screen (among the largest in any business class seat), ample storage, and a 76-inch (193 cm) lie-flat bed. Additionally, again, like Qsuite, The Room features alternating forward and rear-facing seats that maximize personal space while maintaining direct aisle access for every passenger. Unfortunately, The Room is not available on all ANA aircraft, with only about half of the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring the award-winning suite.

In exciting news, however, ANA will introduce The Room FX, arriving on the carrier’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft from August 2026 onward. Designed in partnership with Safran and Acumen, The Room FX looks to bring the comfort of the Boeing 777-300ER suite to the narrower 787, with ANA describing it as “the world’s largest seat in its class on a mid-sized aircraft.” At its widest point, The Room FX measures 41.5 inches (105.4 cm) with a bed length of 77 inches (194.3 cm). Each seat will also feature crisp entertainment screens, updated technology, modern finishes, and a closing privacy door, just like on the 777-300. However, the 48 suites are designed as a “no-recline” business class, with a folding leg rest filling the gap to allow for lie-flat rest.

Few airlines are as instantly recognizable in premium travel as Emirates. Over the past two decades, the Dubai-based airline has built its reputation around opulence and scale, operating more than 100 of the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380, alongside dozens of Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s. Its business class cabins, particularly on the Airbus A380, have become iconic for their spacious seating and stylish finishes, coupled with one of the most polished inflight experiences in commercial aviation.

Emirates’ new flagship business class seat, a refinished upgrade of its older offering, provides all the essentials. This includes direct aisle access, lie-flat beds, large entertainment screens loaded with Emirates best-in-class IFE system, and personal minibars. While the seat design itself is not the newest in the industry, the cream, wood, and gold finishes make it feel elegant.

One of the defining features of the Emirates A380 business class experience is the onboard bar located at the rear of the A380 upper deck. Shared with first class passengers, the lounge offers a social space fully stocked with top-shelf liquors and snacks. The Emirates business class dining offering also excels, with multi-course meals offered on all long-haul flights and vintage champagne to go with it. Emirates A350 and 777 aircraft feature nearly identical seats and inflight experience to those on the A380, albeit without the onboard bar and upper deck location.

Cathay Pacific has long been considered one of the world’s premier long-haul airlines, known for combining luxury and consistency. Today, the Cathay Pacific Aria Suite represents the Hong Kong-based carrier’s flagship business class product. Offered in a reverse herringbone 1-2-1 layout, the suite brings cool white, tan, and dark green hues to the cabin, referencing Hong Kong’s unique mountain and sea landscapes.

Inside the suite, passengers will first notice the massive 24-inch 4K entertainment touchscreen screen, along with the other improved technology features including mood lighting, wireless charging, Bluetooth audio streaming, and complimentary inflight WiFi. Storage is ample as well, with a sliding marble countertop that reveals a small cubby and a leather-lined personal compartment. Each suite also features a sliding privacy door and a movable privacy panel in the middle aisle, allowing for comfort alone or with a travel companion.

As for availability, Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suite is only available on select Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, making it an elusive product to fly. Today, this includes about 14 aircraft and about nine routes, with destinations like Frankfurt, London, San Francisco, Sydney, and Vancouver all boasting at least daily Aria-equipped flights. While Cathay Pacific’s A330, A350, and remaining 777’s business class are not as innovative as the Aria Suite, they still offer a solid hard product and onboard experience.

Air France’s new long-haul business class products onboard the Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 represent a distinct sense of French style, combing elegance, comfort and amazing culinary dishes into one experience. Each seat features a modern white outer shell with a deep navy blue fabric seat. Modern technology, including 4K inflight entertainment screens up to 20 inches wide on the A350 and digital controls on a touchscreen tablet make Air France’s business class offering one of the smartest in 2026.

The carrier’s newest long-haul offering, the Stelia Aerospace OPERA suite, is already flying on many of Air France’s newest Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The suite features sliding privacy doors, fully lie-flat beds, wireless charging, Bluetooth audio connectivity, and the largest of Air France’s entertainment screens. Every passenger also enjoys direct aisle access, while improved storage and carefully designed seating ergonomics make the space feel both practical and luxurious.

In terms of layout, the majority of Air France’s current aircraft feature a reverse-herringbone configuration, with seats facing toward the windows and toward the center of the aircraft for those in the middle aisle. Each seat features a standard 20-inch (51 cm) width and a 79-inch bed. Passengers across Air France’s fleet are also treated to Clarins amenity kits and Michelin-influenced meals. As the highest ranking European carrier in the Skytrax 2025 rankings, Air France represents the best business class product outside of Asia.
