A New Domestic Link To Orange County From Washington Dulles
From August 11, United will become the only airline to fly between Dulles and Orange County, providing a new non-stop link for travelers from Washington to the vibrant California coastline. This route is expected to be popular with families, leisure, and corporate travelers. For United, this is a smart move into a gap where no other airline currently offers the transcontinental route to SNA.
Orange County becomes the sixth Californian destination for United from Dulles, and the new flights will be operated with the airline’s Boeing 737 family of aircraft. At the time of writing, the schedule is yet to be updated on the carrier’s website; however, Patch.com suggested the following schedule:

John Wayne Airport (SNA), also known as Orange County Airport, is one of the busiest airports in the greater Los Angeles area after
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). From SNA, United already operates non-stop flights to Chicago (ORD), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Newark (EWR), and San Francisco (SFO).
Two New International Routes From The U.S. East Coast
Traveling from Washington to Los Cabos is about to get easier, with United’s plan to serve Washington Dulles to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) with up to four weekly flights from October 25. The route was previously served by United up until 2019, and its return from Dulles means that the popular Mexican tourist destination is now available from all seven of United’s hubs. Los Cabos continues to rise in popularity for U.S. travelers and is a go-to destination for those looking for sun, sand, and entertainment. Henry Bird, managing director of United’s Dulles hub, explains the backstory behind UA’s decision to add these routes:
“These new flights reflect United’s continued growth at Dulles, adding two new nonstop destinations that offer D.C.-area travelers easier access to Orange County, California, and Los Cabos, Mexico.”

Newark To St. Croix Returns After Three Decades
United will also return to St. Croix Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) from October 31, offering a once-weekly service from Newark. The airline will become the only carrier offering a non-stop service to New York, and will be United’s only route to the U.S. Virgin Islands. This marks the first time that United will operate the route, which was last offered by the airline’s predecessor Continental Airlines and was axed in 1994.
At the time of writing, the airline’s schedule had yet to be published. The route will not only likely be popular with tourists traveling to and from the territory, but also feed into the airline’s wider international and domestic network from Newark.
