Call her Mommy: Podcast host Alex Cooper pregnant with first child

Alex Cooper, 31, shared online Sunday that she and her husband, Matt Kaplan, 42, are expecting their first child together.

The “Call Her Daddy” podcast host revealed the news with a photo on her Instagram page showing her seated on the armrest of a chair, turned toward Kaplan, who is seated beside her. Cooper is smiling with one hand resting on her baby bump.

She captioned the post, “Our family,” followed by a white heart emoji.

Kaplan, a Hollywood producer, married Cooper in April 2024. The couple also co-founded the Unwell Network, a subsidiary of the media company Trending.

The pregnancy announcement comes amid recent tension between the popular podcaster and TikTok star Alix Earle, who rose to prominence in 2023 for videos filmed while attending the University of Miami. Earle previously hosted the “Hot Mess” podcast with the Unwell Network before leaving the show and cutting ties with the network last year.

After their falling out, Cooper and Earle became embroiled in renewed online drama this year in a series of social media posts suggesting lingering tension. Interest peaked in April after both influencers appeared to exchange veiled messages about each other online.

Cooper addressed the situation first, calling out Earle in a TikTok post that said, “You’re going to need to get specific,” and “Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself” — a reference to reposts and comments Earle had shared without explicitly naming Cooper.

Earle responded in the comments but has not posted a direct video reply, sharing only a clip of her friends reacting to Cooper’s callout.
