Announcement of new diplomatic appointments


July 30, 2025 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the following diplomatic appointments:

Louis-Martin Aumais will become Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Mr. Aumais will replace Tarik Khan.   

Jeff David will become Consul General in Mumbai (Republic of India). Mr. David will replace Diedrah Kelly. 

Ghislain Robichaud will become Consul General in Sydney (Australia). Mr. Robichaud will replace André-François Giroux, who is currently serving as Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti. 

Allison Stewart will become Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Libya. Ms. Stewart will replace Isabelle Savard.
