Diablo 4 die-hards desperate for dyes, following launch of Lord of Hatred Expansion

Diablo 4’s recent Lord of Hatred expansion has brought a lot of love back into Blizzard’s dark ARPG, but fashion-forward players are still desperate for one thing: more dyes.

The game does already have armour customisation options, and a selection of pigments (aka dyes) which can be used to recolour the palettes of armour. Still, despite the introduction of a few new pigments over the years via major patches and updates, the community still hungers for more.

Here’s the launch trailer for Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred.Watch on YouTube

‘We must rebel and unite to get more dyes’, user MissPapayaMaya titled their post on the Diablo 4 Reddit: “BECAUSE THIS IS NOT OKAY! jk it’s not that deep but it is. how the hell do we not have a simple black and gold dye yet???” they add, encouraging discussion from like-minded players. Another user, Blessman responded: “But not only dyes. The ability to dye the gear like Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2. It’s 2026, the technology exists… If they want me to pay 28$ a skin, I want to dye at will.”

Others desire an expansion to the system, which currently only allows for the specific allocation of dyes on certain armour materials. User PotionsNPaine wrote: “Yeah… the ability to dye weapons and horse tack would be amazing.”

There’s one more thing these players want, something that has been demanded since before the launch of Lord of Hatred; a true black dye. Diablo 4 has had darker shades, though these have been grey, rather than a true shadowy shade.

So the battle for further customisation options rages. If there’s something that may calm the mind of these depressed dye lovers, at least, it’s that Lord of Hatred appears to be rather well-received by and large with its new Warlock class, expanded skill trees, and other goodies.
