Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Set Gets a Massive Price Drop on Amazon

The massive Collector’s Edition of Frieren Season 1 Part 2 just got a massive discount on Amazon, bringing the lofty price down from a whopping $220 to a slightly more reasonable $79.45.

The Blu-ray set collects the second half of Frieren’s first season, specifically episodes 17 through 28. What makes 12 episodes worth that theoretical price of $220? Well, the ridiculous amount of merch the limited-edition set happens to come with.

The full set comes packaged in a suitcase inspired by Frieren’s own luggage, complete with metal latches and red velvet lining. A floral sleeve on the suitcase poses the existential question: “What will you carry beyond journey’s end?”

Open up the suitcase and you’ll find the Blu-ray discs packaged in a blue and gold box designed to look like a grimoire. The case features blue moon flower designs along the gold foil, which fans may recognize as Himmel’s favorite flower. Within the grimoire you’ll find the Blu-ray discs packaged in a rainbow foil case. Yep, this is the rare version.

Dig deeper into the luggage and you’ll find a borderline ridiculous number of pack-ins, including gold foil shikishi designed by the original manga artist and a 200-page grimoire packed with illustrations. Those shikishi by themselves are going for upwards of $80 on eBay, if that offers a little more clarity about the pricing.

Here’s the full list of both physical and digital extras that come with the Blu-ray set:

  • Suitcase gift box
  • Art book
  • 3 art cards
  • Acrylic standee
  • Flower luggage tag
  • 7 Kiss-cut sticker sheets
  • 7 Shikishis
  • Textless Opening and Ending Songs
  • Special Video “Frieren: Journey’s Memory”
  • Web Previews
  • Promo Videos

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End aired its first season back in 2023. We were big fans of the show, describing the premiere episode as “a moving fantasy adventure that favors contemplation over action – and is all the better for it.” In fact, we ultimately voted for Frieren as the best anime of 2024.

Season 2 of the show was much shorter, at only 10 episodes, and aired during this past Winter anime season. Official Frieren accounts recently announced that Season 3 is in production, with Studio Madhouse tentatively aiming for a Fall 2027 release.
