Champion is punching its way into new territory.
The sportswear brand has teamed with Aries, a London-based streetwear brand, on a capsule collection centered around boxing.
The collection reworks the brand’s classic Reverse Weave, using deadstock jerseys that have been aged and printed with graphics created by Aries. The 10-piece collection of unisex styles is offered in black, gray, navy and red.
To promote the launch, the companies tapped professional British boxers Harlem Eubank and Tiah Mai Ayton to appear in the ads, which were shot by Douglas Irvine.
“I’ve always loved vintage Champion as it carries a real sense of authenticity,” said Sofia Prantera, founder and creative director of Aries. “This collaboration was about pushing that heritage into something more confrontational. Boxing and MMA felt like a natural influence with the energy and the physicality, channeled into the clothes.”
The Aries x Champion collection will launch in the U.K. on Thursday and will retail for 79 to 175 pounds. It will also be sold at the Aries flagship in London, the Champion stores in Soho and Manchester Arndale in the U.K., as well as online and select wholesale partners globally.
Aries was founded by Prantera, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, and is known for its unique garment dyeing, printing and garment construction.
Champion was founded in 1919 and is known for its “C” logo and collaborations with brands such as Supreme and Todd Snyder. It was sold in June of 2024 to Authentic Brands Group for $1.2 billion. It had formerly been owned by HanesBrands.
