Rainbow Six pro arrested after allegedly kidnapping man and holding him for months

Rainbow 6 Siege X pro Sho ‘BlackRay’ Hasegawa was arrested in Tokyo for allegedly kidnapping a man and “confining” him for three months.

On July 18, Siege.GG reported that CAG Osaka’s Sho ‘BlackRay’ Hasegawa had been arrested by Tokyo Metropolitan Police for allegedly confining a person for three months.

The Rainbow 6 Siege X pro had seemingly been photographed being led into a police station alongside a group of other men. In total, seven men had been arrested and detained on July 16, with the group also being accused of blackmailing a man who was the main contractor of an interior construction project.

According to a further report from Jiji in Japan, the group had “allegedly poured boiling water on him, beat him with a hammer, and caused serious injuries such as fractured ribs, a broken lower back, and burns all over his body.” This led to a six-month recovery period for the contractor.

BlackRay was photographed as a part of the arrests.

Additionally, the report also stated that there were “suspicions” of the seven men using a screwdriver to impale the contractor and “pressed a heated frying pan against his body.”

The group had also apparently extorted around $13,000 (2 million YEN) from the victim. He was only found by police following a car crash on April 30 that he was involved in as a passenger.

CAG Osaka have withdrawn from the APAC North 2025 Stage 1 Playoffs, where they were set to play against PSG Talon. BlackRay has also been removed from their team website, but, as of writing, they have not issued a statement on him.

As per Siege.GG, this is believed to have taken place between February and April, when BlackRay would have been in Boston, competing at the Six Invitational 2025.

They believe that the man had been freed only weeks before CAG Osaka reached the RE:L0:AD grand finals.
