Tyla Pairs Black Louboutin So Kate Pumps With a Gaultier Classic

Tyla revisited one of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most recognizable fashion lines on Sunday in Paris, pairing a black cone-bodice dress with Christian Louboutin’s black patent So Kate pumps for the house’s fall 2026 show. The cone bra entered fashion history through Madonna’s 1990 “Blond Ambition” tour after first appearing on Gaultier’s runway in 1987, which gave Tyla’s front-row look an unusually clear fashion reference point from the start.

The So Kate kept that reference from drifting too far into costume. Louboutin introduced the Kate line in 2012, naming it for Kate Moss, and the So Kate sharpened that formula with an even steeper 120 mm heel. Tyla’s pair came in glossy black patent calf leather with a pointed toe, a low-cut vamp and a narrow stiletto that lifted the shoe into a severe, uninterrupted line. Like all Louboutin pumps, the heels, which retail for $945, featured the house’s signature red lacquered sole.

The dress held the rest of the argument. Ribbed cone cups rose from a fitted black bodice cut with thin straps and visible vertical seaming through the torso. Below that, the shape released into a full black skirt with soft volume and a lower waist seam that changed the proportion from corset to dress. A pale lace choker, rings and a delicate ankle bracelet kept the styling tight.

The shoe choice also tightened up Tyla’s recent run. In late January, she wore Valentino Rockstud pumps to Alessandro Michele’s spring 2026 couture debut in Paris. At the Grammys a few days later, she switched to Paris Texas’ caramel patent Lidia mules. Then at the NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 28, she returned to Louboutin in the crystal-covered Rosalie Jewel sandals. The So Kate landed as the cleanest entry in that sequence: no studs or crystals or other embellishments — just a hard pointed pump under a dress with enough history built into it already.
