The Winter Olympic Games — which drew in an average of 24.3 million viewers from the U.S., much more than Beijing 2022, according to the International Olympic Committee — is wrapping up Sunday, February 22, with a closing ceremony that starts at 2:30 p.m. EST. While the Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony simultaneously took place at four different venues across Italy, its last proceeding is going to be held exclusively at the Verona Arena. The theme of the evening? “Beauty in Action,” which promises to showcase a “fusion of opera, music, dance, cinema, design, and technology,” while honoring athletic excellence and Italian identity.

The Olympic opener featured global talent from Mariah Carey to Andrea Bocelli, but its Sunday counterpart will focus on performances from Italian luminaries like Grammy-nominated DJ Gabry Ponte, singer Achille Lauro, and ballet dancer Roberto Bolle. The setting, an ancient Roman amphitheater that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, is quite fitting for what will soon take place in it — considering the Verona Arena’s significance in Italian history and the fact that it epitomizes generations of the host country’s artistry.

Those questioning just how pivotal branded fashion placements are during the Olympics need only to remember what happened to boxer Jake Paul’s fiancée Jutta Leerdam, a Dutch speed skater who got gold in the women’s 1000m by finishing in record-breaking time. She unzipped her racing suit after securing the medal, only to reveal a white Nike sports bra — the Indy High Support Women’s Padded Front-Zip Sports Bra, to be exact, which fans rushed to grab in Leerdam’s exact color at Kohl’s. Experts said this move, strategic or not, could’ve earned her a $1 million payout from Nike; others, however, accused the 27-year-old of “ambush marketing.” Though there were speculations of it, she will not be punished by the International Olympic Committee.
