Bars, Beds, And Better Bathrooms
From flat beds, access to airport and onboard lounges, a chauffeur service, and better bathrooms, business class trumps economy on the Emirates A380 across the board. Business class is located on the upper deck of the airline’s A380 fleet, where fewer seats create a more spacious environment all around.
So, whether it be easier access to toilets in order to avoid uncomfortable queues at who-knows-what o’clock in the morning, or the security of knowing bags are located nearby on board, additional space is an obvious but big factor. Naturally, with Emirates, though, there is more. It offers its business customers a chauffeur service up to 70 miles to and from airports, alongside access to specific airport lounges, meaning the luxuries are not just limited to the flight. Once on the plane, though, passengers get complimentary welcome drinks and hot towels to enjoy in their private pod. Such pods are arranged in a 1-2-1 floor plan in the business cabin, with middle aisle seats equipped with a retractable divider wall for privacy or a “honeymoon” option for pairs traveling together. Luxuries also extend to menu choices, where passengers can select meals two weeks in advance, along with invitations to the lounges located onboard Emirates’ A380s.
Benefits Versus Price
Of course, flying business class on the Emirates A380 comes at a cost, and the big question is whether that is worth it, especially given raving reviews of the carrier’s economy options. Emirates’ featured fares showed a one-way flight from London Gatwick to its Dubai hub from as little as £408.07 ($559.43) as of February 2026. In comparison, business fares on the same seven-hour flight started at £1,920.32 ($2,614.61), just under five times the price.
Aside from the benefits listed above, the business class option in this case offers an additional baggage allowance of ten kilograms against economy, for a total of 40 kilograms, and free seat selection, to name a few. Changing or seeking a refund for the flight costs more for the business class option, though, with such passengers having to pay a £2,962.32 ($4,033.35) fare for complete flexibility to allow for any last-minute changes of plan.

However, the price jump to first class on the Gatwick-Dubai flight is even more eye-watering, with the best seats on the aircraft starting at a hefty £4,150.32. That is around ten times the price of the cheapest economy seat and just over double the basic business option. Similar to Emirates, flat beds are standard, along with amenity kits and access to airport lounges. A bag pick-up and drop-off service is also offered by BA around certain airports.
Considering Emirates also guarantees a quieter, more spacious flight for business customers on the A380’s upper deck, an onboard lounge, and a full chauffeur service, its benefits are simply unmatched in this case. The proof is purely in the numbers, with Emirates offering more than BA for less – £1,647.68 less to be precise – from London to Dubai as of February 2026. Economies of scale can account for the massive difference here, with Emirates journeys from the UK to Dubai 146 times a week, compared with BA’s 20.

Do The Benefits Live Up To The Price?
Nothing is perfect, however, and Emirates is no exception. One might not be blamed for paying as much as £2,962.32 (the Business Flex Plus rate) for the flight to Dubai and quite rightly wondering where their inflight shower is.
