Lancashire: Ex-England bowler Kabir Ali named new bowling coach

Lancashire have named former England bowler Kabir Ali as their new lead bowling coach.

Now 45, Ali played one Test and 14 One-Day Internationals for England between 2003 and 2006.

At county level, he played for Worcestershire, Hampshire and then had two seasons with Lancashire to round off his career.

Since then, he has coached around the world most notably for three seasons at Yorkshire as assistant to head coach Otis Gibson and then last year as lead bowling coach for Warwickshire’s women’s team.

“I’m incredibly excited to be back at Lancashire in this new role,” he told the club’s website., external

“It’s a great challenge to help shape our bowling group, and equally important to support the development of the next generation of fast bowlers coming through our pathway.”
