If the recent dip in temperatures has you thinking about autumn dressing, you’re certainly not alone. As much as I’ve enjoyed a wardrobe of linen dresses, raffia bags and barely-there sandals over the past few months, this is always the point in summer when I find myself craving something a little more substantial—and, naturally, Zara’s new-in section is the first place I look.

True to form, the retailer is already teasing the season ahead. Among the latest arrivals are sleek funnel-neck jackets, lightweight knits, rich suede accessories and the sort of dark-wash barrel-leg jeans that always come into their own once autumn arrives. The palette, too, has shifted from bright summer hues to elevated neutrals, while soft loafers, polished flats and transitional layers are beginning to replace strappy sandals and beach-ready staples.
