We’ve outfitted our homes with the best sustainable furniture companies for years. These are our picks for outdoor dining tables that are durable, weather-resistant, and eco-conscious.
The vision board practically builds itself when you’re wishing for a dreamy outdoor gathering: A delicious spread of food laid out and glistening in the sun while friends and family laugh and enjoy the gorgeous weather, all centered around a big, beautiful outdoor table. So maybe it doesn’t always go like that, but we can dream. And the tables on this guide make us dream! We rounded up outdoor dining tables from our favorite sustainable, ethical, and mindful brands that will make you want to invite everyone you know to enjoy. Your vision board might be closer than you think. 😉
What to consider when shopping for outdoor dining tables:
With any furniture, we love to prioritize secondhand options, but sometimes, with outdoor furniture, buying new might be your best bet for longevity and durability. Look for materials that are made to last and withstand weather — like teak, powder-coated steel or aluminum, or recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These materials are going to be better in the sun, rain, and general weather and wear that happens outdoors.
If you’re looking for the most sustainable option, consider a sustainably sourced, FSC Certified teak table. We have a few options on this guide that offer exactly that! Also look for certifications like GREENGUARD Gold, which certifies that the product emits low volumes of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). And Fair Trade certified ensures that the production process and labor is fair, safe, and ethical.
How to care for outdoor dining tables:
Depending on the materials, there are different ways to care for your outdoor tables. And it’s always best to check the specific care instructions for your specific table. Generally, for teak tables, you can clean with a light soap and water. Always clean spills immediately. Some recommend storing your table indoors for long periods of bad weather (i.e., in extremely rainy seasons or winter) and always make sure it’s dry before storing. For powder-coated metal tables, you can generally leave them out for any weather conditions and wipe to clean. Some brands recommend a table cover to keep them in the best condition. HDPE tables can be cleaned with soap, water, and a soft-bristle brush.
Our criteria:
Our editors have lived amongst the best sustainable furniture brands in their homes for years — and we’ve researched, and corresponded with them too. For this guide, we hand-selected outdoor dining tables that are durable, eco-friendly, and good for hosting from our favorite brands producing nontoxic, thoughtfully made pieces. The options on this list are a true alternative to mass-produced plastic and low-quality wood that won’t last through the seasons. We regularly revisit and update this guide with new options when they meet the following criteria:
- DURABLE | These dining tables are built to last. They’re made from high-quality, sustainable materials that are designed for weather, wear, and plenty of hosting.
- NONTOXIC & ECO-FRIENDLY | The brands on this list use eco-friendly and sustainable processes in sourcing and manufacturing their outdoor dining tables. They all have the certifications to back them up, too.
- GOOD FOR HOSTING | We selected brands that offer outdoor dining tables big enough for hosting. Many of the tables on this list comfortably seat 6-8 guests.

1. MasayaCo
Best for | Teak outdoor dining tables
Materials | FSC Certified sustainably grown teak
Price Range | $625-$2,695
MasayaCo was born out of co-founder Aram Terry’s experience on a Peace Corps assignment in Nicaragua. The outdoor dining tables at MasayaCo are all handcrafted from sustainably grown, FSC-certified teak. All of the outdoor dining table designs from MasayaCo are perfect for outdoor hosting. The larger outdoor tables come in two sizes: seating for six or for eight people. We particularly love the unique design of the Casares Outdoor Dining Table, though they’re all beautifully crafted and unique. Each has a distinct design and all are finished with an outdoor sealer finish for protection against moisture, UV rays, and mold. And with every purchase, MasayaCo plants a tree as part of its reforestation efforts. Folks in Berkley, California can see and try MasayaCo’s pieces in person at their flagship store.
