The 2026 Emmy Award nominees were announced this morning by ‘The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas and ‘Widow’s Bay’ actor Jeff Hiller, though it made the choice to once again announce the Reality Competition Series and Outstanding Variety Series categories hours earlier.
As usual, there was the returning titles, including ‘The Bear,’ ‘The Diplomat,’‘Slow Horses’ and those taking their last shot at Emmy glory, including ‘Hacks,’ which wrapped up this year.

Of the new crop, the buzzy ‘Widow’s Bay’ and ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ proved that Apple TV continues to be a real force alongside Netflix, which saw the likes of ‘The Beast in Me’ and the returning ‘Beef’ land nominations, though neither topped HBO, which landed 122 nominations in all.
This year’s Emmy Awards –– the 78th –– will be held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on September 14, hosted by ‘Law & Order’ stalwart Mariska Hargitay.
