A 17-year-old girl in North Carolina was indicted Monday on murder charges for allegedly helping to livestream and record a deadly attack on a California mosque this spring, authorities said.
The defendant, Sarah Santiago, was arrested last week and indicted on Monday by a grand jury, according to Jim O’Neill, the district attorney for Forsyth County in North Carolina. He emphasized that those who “aid and abet” a crime — even from afar — are also guilty.
