A tourist plane crashed outside Nazca, Peru, Saturday afternoon killing 13 people on board, officials said.
The aircraft, which had 11 passengers and two crew members, took off from Pisco Airport, Peru’s National Police said.

The crash in the field took place around 12:55 p.m. local time, according to the police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The city of Nazca is located in southern Peru and is famous for the Nazca Lines, ancient drawings scratched onto the surface of the earth, according to UNESCO.
