YouTube TV is giving customers a $20 credit for Disney blackout

YouTube TV subscribers unhappy about going more than a week without ESPN, ABC, and other Disney networks will be getting a $20 credit that can be applied to their next billing statement.

Variety first reported on the credit, and a YouTube spokesperson confirmed the news to TechCrunch. The company says the credits are rolling out now, with subscribers receiving emailed instructions about how to apply it.

Disney’s channels were pulled from the subscription TV service on October 31. YouTube says that if it reaches a deal, those channels will be restored within a matter of hours. As with similar disputes, this one appears to revolve around pricing, with YouTube criticizing Disney’s supposed price hike and Disney saying YouTube is “refusing to pay fair rates for our channels.”

The subscription TV service’s last dispute with Disney was in 2022, leading YouTube TV to offer customers a $15 credit after Disney programming was removed for a day.
