As we shared alongside our announcement of the ROG Xbox Ally handheld devices last year, we’ll be introducing more features to the ROG Xbox Ally X over time. Starting today, we’re excited to invite Xbox Insiders to begin trying highlight reels, a new feature for the ROG Xbox Ally X that you can access via Game Highlights (Preview) in the game page of the Xbox PC app. This feature helps you easily capture your standout gameplay moments, like epic boss battles or victories, and share them as short replay clips with your friends online. With no additional downloads needed, highlight reels allows you to effortlessly clip memorable moments in-game without ever needing to leave your game so you can stay focused on the fun.

During this early preview, Xbox Insiders can try highlight reels with an initial selection of games, including Forza Horizon 5, Overwatch, and more. We encourage Xbox Insiders to try this new feature and provide feedback directly in the experience, via the Xbox Insider Hub, or using the reporting feature as we continue to explore, improve, and experiment with more ways to enhance gameplay experiences. Your feedback will help inform additional supported games and features in the future.

How to Use Game Highlights on your ROG Xbox Ally X

1. Join the Xbox Insider Program if you haven’t already: Xbox Insider Home | Xbox Support 
2. Ensure recording settings are enabled. 
   • You can do this via Game Bar by navigating to Settings > More Settings > Widgets > Record in the background while playing a game. 
   • There are other ways you can change this setting:
     • Via Gaming Copilot: Navigate to Gaming Copilot > Settings > Capture Settings > Navigate to Capture Settings in Widget 
     • Via Windows settings: Navigate to Settings > Gaming > Captures > Record what happened 

3. Jump into one of the supported games

4. Gaming Copilot will capture clips of gaming moments while you play. At the end of your gameplay session, a highlight reel will automatically be created using these clips, which you can view and share via Game Highlights (Preview) within the game page of the Xbox PC app

5. Be sure to try out the experience and take the survey in the Xbox Insider Hub!
