The second season of Netflix’s One Piece series is here and it’s fantastic. IGN called it “nothing short of a miracle” in our glowing 9 out of 10 review, and after watching the first few episodes myself, I can see why. Somehow Netflix was able to take this beloved, weird cartoony world from the manga and turn it into a live action adaptation that just works. Everyone in the cast seems fit into their roles as if they were born to play each character.
Unfortunately, that same level of detail hasn’t necessarily transfered over to the One Piece toys on the market. There are some really detailed figures, sure, but there’s also some seriously haunted stuff. Just do one quick Amazon search for One Piece plushies and you’ll come across one of the most horrifying interprations of Monkey D. Luffy imaginable.

Everything about this Luffy body pillow by Jay Franco looks cursed. His eyes are going in different directions, his nose is crooked, his mouth is far too crinkly, and his body looks stiff and lifeless. The product page says it’s recommended for kids between the age of 4 and 12, but I can only imagine putting this in a child’s bed would cause endless nightmares.
When we first found this absurd body pillow, we took to the IGN Finds X account to share it with everyone we know. The response was incredible and everyone piled on to say something about how horrifying it is. You can check out some of the hilarious replies in the post below:

As terrifying as this interpretation of Luffy is, it’s thankfully not the only plushie available. If you’re looking for a cuter version of the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, there’s a smaller version available at Target for only $9.99.
