Readers of this article may have their own informed opinions about which airlines have the best in-flight entertainment. For this list, the top five winners of Skytrax’s World’s Best In-Flight Entertainment 2025 awards will be listed. As a travel tip, in-flight entertainment is much better when using high-quality headphones.
Instead of using the cheap headphones handed out to economy class passengers, it is advisable to bring your own with an adapter; the adapter is not always needed. Private, high-quality noise-canceling headphones are also frequently better than those supplied in premium economy.
While no US-based airlines are listed in the top five, Delta Air Lines does come in at number six. The rest of the top ten are Air France, Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, and United Airlines. The next ten ranked airlines (11–20) for in-flight entertainment are British Airways, Saudia, KLM, Etihad, American, Starlux, Air New Zealand, Air Canada, Finnair, and JetBlue. Let’s examine what you need to know about the five airlines that are considered to have offered the best in-flight entertainment in 2025. This list will also consider each airline’s in-flight WiFi offerings.

Turkish Airlines
Up to $25 for unlimited internet
As with many leading in-flight entertainment systems, Turkish Airlines offers a large range of movies, series, songs, games, and stuff for kids. Movies are a selection of new releases and classics, as well as a choice of Hollywood movies, Turkish movies, and films from other countries. The carrier says that “you won’t notice how time flies during your flight! We have enriched the content on our Planet inflight entertainment system with the latest selections. You will enjoy your flight even more with the best entertaining movies, albums, games, and other new content!“
Example movies currently shown include Tron Ares, Aliens, and the documentary series Wild Scandinavia. Turkish Airlines’ widebody fleet includes A330-300s, A330neos, A350-900s, Boeing 777-300ERs, and Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Currently, Turkish Airlines has not ordered the upcoming Boeing 777-9, but it does have orders for 15 Airbus A350-1000 that will allow it to fly nonstop on ultra-long-haul routes to Australia, New Zealand, and South America.
In today’s world, in-flight WiFi can be considered part of in-flight entertainment. Turkish Airlines now offers internet connection on most of its international flights. Internet service is complimentary for business class passengers and Miles&miles program members. Otherwise, for long-haul flights, it costs $25 for unlimited connection, $20 for 1 GB, $15 for 500 MB, $9 for 250 MD, and $3 for unlimited messaging. Short-haul flight internet plans are about half the price for unlimited access, while the 250 MB and unlimited messaging plans remain the same.

Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Japan Airlines have the best economy seats for long-haul aviation.

Singapore Airlines
Up to $15.99 for unlimited internet
Singapore Airlines is frequently ranked the best or second-best airline in the world by Skytrax, and when it comes to in-flight entertainment, it is the fourth best. Singapore Airlines is noted for being one of the most well-rounded global airlines with its onboard KrisWorld entertainment system. KrisWorld offers almost 2,000 on-demand movies, TV shows, and more. It has complete seasons of dozens of TV shows and live streaming of sports.
With live sports streaming, the carrier says that you can “catch live sporting events, such as the English Premier League season and more, while cruising on board with Singapore Airlines.” This means that an inconveniently timed flight doesn’t mean passengers need to miss out on watching football, NRL, tennis, and other matches and tournaments. Singapore Airlines also offers in-flight WiFi once the aircraft has climbed above 10,000 feet, which is around 15 minutes after take-off and before landing.
WiFi is now complimentary for first class, business class, and for KrisFlyer members flying in premium economy and economy class. KrisFlyer members flying in premium and economy can add their KrisFlyer number to the booking through the ‘Manage Booking’ function at least 1.5 hours before the flight. For other passengers, WiFi costs $15.99 for the full flight, $8.99 for three hours, and $3.99 for one hour.
3
Qatar Airways
Complimentary unlimited internet connection
Qatar Airways has been the airline vying with Singapore Airlines for the top spot on Skytrax’s list of best airlines for years. In 2025, the Middle Eastern carrier was ranked as the third best for in-flight entertainment. Its entertainment system is known as Oryx One and is among the biggest entertainment selections of any airline. It has thousands of movies, TV shows, music albums, games, and more on demand.
Besides Hollywood movies, it has a selection of Indian (including South Indian) movies, European Movies, East Asian movies, African movies, Arabic movies, and more. As of the time of writing, it shows a single South American movie: La Mujer de la Fila (‘The Woman In The Line’). Unlike many other airlines, Qatar Airlines is rolling out complimentary in-flight WiFi for all passengers. Qatar Airways says that “to benefit from one hour of complimentary on-board Wi-Fi, [you can] become a Privilege Club member today.”
The airline claims to be the largest global airline and the first in the Middle East to introduce Starlink on board its aircraft. As of March 2026, passengers can expect Starlink on routes to over 56 destinations when flying on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 widebody aircraft. Being Starlink, the connection is fast, with speeds of up to 500 megabits per second. If the aircraft doesn’t have Starlink installed yet, passengers can still purchase WiFi from another internet provider.

All the airline’s planes will offer Starlink by 2027.
2
Emirates
Up to $19.99 for unlimited internet, complimentary WiFi is rolling out
Emirates is one of the world’s most notable airlines. It operates half of the world’s Airbus A380s and is one of the very few airlines to be seemingly enamored with the aircraft that most airlines consider a white elephant. Emirates is also the world’s largest operator of the Boeing 777 family and has placed firm orders for around 43% of all the Boeing 777X aircraft currently on order. Not only does Emirates operate more widebody aircraft than any other airline in the world, but it also operates some of the world’s largest widebodies.
When it comes to in-flight entertainment, Emirates’ ICE (Information, Communication, Entertainment) system is regarded by many as the best in the world, although Skytrax ranks it second. It offers around 6,500 different programs with everything from blockbuster movies to the tail camera on its Airbus A380s. Even Spotify is now on ICE, which essentially means there are limitless podcasts and songs to listen to. The system has Bloomberg Originals, Discovery and discovery+, BBC, MBC, HBO, and more.
Emirates is currently in the process of rolling out Starlink on all its flights. Emirates plans to offer free, super high-speed Starlink WiFi for passengers starting with the Boeing 777 aircraft. This started in November 2025 and is now rolling out. The first Starlink-equipped A380s are now being fitted. Emirates says that “soon you’ll be able to connect to the world’s most advanced satellite internet on our flights, and it’s free for everyone.” For now, however, paid WiFi plans are still in place.
1
Cathay Pacific
Up to $24.95 for unlimited internet
Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific tops the Skytrax list of airlines with the best in-flight entertainment for 2025. It offers over 4,500 hours of entertainment and has some of the best movie and TV libraries to be found at 35,000 feet. Naturally, Cathay offers a selection of Hollywood, Mainland China, and Hong Kong films. It also has movies from other East Asian countries (including Korean dramas) and a selection of movies from elsewhere in the world. Popular in-flight games include Angry Birds World Tour, UNO, Monopoly, and How Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Cathay Pacific now offers high-speed WiFi across its fleet, although this is not complimentary for all passengers. While it may be free for everyone to visit the pages on cathaypacific.com and to shop on its curated products at lifestyle.asiamiles.com, surfing the internet is something else. Diamond and Gold members, as well as first and business class passengers, can enjoy complimentary WiFi. This includes Cathay members in premium economy, who are required to add their membership number when they make their booking or during check-in.
For other passengers, internet access starts at $9.95 for one hour, and costs $12.95 for unlimited access on flights under six hours. For flights over six hours, it costs between $19.95 and $24.95. Cathay Pacific operates a mixed fleet of narrowbody aircraft and widebody aircraft. Its widebody fleet is made up of A330-300s, A350-900s, A350-1000s, Boeing 777-300s, and Boeing 777-300ERs. Notably, Cathay is one of the final operators of the aging Boeing 777-300, and it has 35 examples of the new Boeing 777-9 on order.
