The 10 Longest Airbus A220 Routes In The US In 2025

The Airbus A220 is a state-of-the-art narrowbody aircraft that is configured with five-abreast seating. Initially designed and developed by Bombardier Aviation in Canada, it was known as the Bombardier C Series and was first launched in July 2008. The first and smallest version of the C Series was the CS100, which flew for the first time in September 2013. Airbus acquired a majority stake in the programme in 2018 and was renamed the Airbus A220. The first operator of the CS100 was Swiss Global Air Lines, which entered service in July 2016, while the larger variant, the CS300 (Now Airbus A220-300), rolled off the factory floor for airBaltic in December 2016.

Both launch operators have hailed the fuel economy and dispatch reliability, along with the onboard comfort for both passengers and crew. Today, Airbus has two assembly lines for the A220, both in Mirabel, Quebec, and Mobile, Alabama. The Mobile plant is primarily for all US-ordered aircraft. Using data from Cirium, an online aviation analytics company, Simple Flying decided to dig into the longest Airbus A220 flights in the United States in 2025, measured by the number of miles gate-to-gate .
