Sarah Wright joins Earnscliffe Strategies, Navigator Ltd. brings on Bahoz Dara Aziz, Abigail Pender hired at Expedia Group


This week’s movers on the government relations scene.

 Sarah Wright has been brought onto the Earnscliffe Strategies as an account director for public affairs.

The firm shared the hiring of Wright in a press statement on Tuesday, March 17. “Sarah brings 20 years of experience implementing strategic public relations projects and programs across three provinces. She has worked across government and private industry, with expertise in government relations, media relations, stakeholder management, and advancing work in health care, community culture, and resource development” the company said.

Sarah brings with her experience as a senior communications manager for the Saskatchewan Party. She had also worked as a healthcare advocate specifically for women’s health, which contributed to the opening of a new breast cancer clinic in southern Saskatchewan, where she maintained an advisory role throughout the clinic’s development.

Meanwhile, Bahoz Dara Aziz has joined the crisis communications firm Navigator as a senior consultant.

In a statement made on LinkedIn, the firm announced her hiring stating that “Bahoz will apply her communications and media relations expertise, as well as her experience in government, strategic communications, and crisis response to our practice.”

In a press release shared with iPolitics, Bahoz’s experience was highlighted “led Minister Gary Anandasangaree’s communications shop at Crown-Indigenous Relations […] was Press Secretary and Senior Communications Advisor at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, serving as key spokesperson to Ministers Marc Miller and Sean Fraser while helping manage communications on one of the government’s most high-profile and politically sensitive files.”

Lastly, the Expedia Group has hired on Abigail Pender as the head of government affairs for Canada and the Caribbean.

Pender announced her hiring on a post LinkedIn, expressing her gratitude “for the past 3.5 years at Global Public Affairs, where I worked alongside amazing colleagues on a wide range of important policy issues” while highlighting the excitement to advance the public policy goals of the Expedia Group in her new role.

Abigail will be bringing her government affairs knowledge to the firm, with the aforementioned 3.5 years at Global Public Affairs, as well as 1.5 years at Edelman.
