SA-W vs NZ-W – South Africa bowl first in series opener, Kayla Reyneke gets maiden cap

Toss South Africa bowl vs New Zealand

South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first in the first ODI of the series against New Zealand, at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. New Zealand had won the T20 series 4-1, but South Africa – finalists in the ODI World Cup last year – are hoping for a better result in the ODIs.
Kayla Reyneke, the 20-year-old allrounder, makes her ODI debut for South Africa, having been given her cap by Chloe Tryon. Reyneke has played seven T20Is, and has put up impressive numbers with both bat and ball.

New Zealand: Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr (capt), Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Izzy Gaze (wk), Izzy Sharp, Jess Kerr, Flora Devonshire, Rosemary Mair, Bree Illing

South Africa: Laura Wolvaardt (capt), Tazmin Brits, Anneri Dercksen, Sune Luus, Sinalo Jafta, Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Kayla Reyneke, Ayabonga Khaka, Tumi Sekhukhune, Nonkulileko Mlaba
