Rumours of floor-crossings, plus Artemis II Briefing and Canada Good News

Rumours of floor-crossings

Ten might be crossing the floor? Wow. I would expect that idiotic “justify your shadow cabinet job” email didn’t go over very well.

Artemis II Briefing
Fascinating to watch the NASA feed today plus see all the messages from around the world.
Even from cats:

The quality of NASA mission control social media organization is truly outstanding: “Amaze amaze amaze”

The respect and love between these four crew members is great to see:

And so ends the most private group chat in history.

They’re on their way back now:

Canada Good News
Yes, I would take this win too:

If some weird affection for the King has led him to leave Canada alone, hey, I’ll take it

🇺🇸 🇨🇦 President Trump tells biographer Robert Hardman that his idea of making Canada the “51st state” is not going to happen:

“I suppose the Canadians have got 200 years of history and all that “Oh, Canada” thing. You can’t deal with that in three and a half years. I guess it’s not going to happen!”

I threw up a little in my mouth when I heard this, but Jeremy Hanson knows Trump loves being thanked by big strong men with tears in their eyes, so his words of gratitude and solidarity are positive and politic:

But some don’t believe we’re off the hook just yet:

A) Trump definitely has not given up on annexing Canada, but

B) I find the idea him *thinking* we are ruled by a king (realistically not the case, he’s a figurehead) as a reason he would back off a bit entirely consistent.

The real conflict is between oligarchy/autocracy and democracy…. #CDNpoli

Tucker Carlson wants a war with Canada:

So Tucker Carlson,
hugely influential in Nazi 🇺🇸USA, says 🇨🇦Canada has more water & oil, has “never been a sovereign nation”, has government that “hates” its own people, has killed 100,000 of its residents through “MAIDS” [sic], should be subjected to much more 🇺🇸USA influence, by force if necessary.

It always surprises me that so many people misunderstand “MAID” when just about every family has experienced the grief of watching a loved one die a needlessly-painful death. Carlson is one of those who thinks no one has the right to control their own body.
However, maybe his idiocy isn’t going to influence Trump because right now Carlson is also talking trash to Trump over that insulting Truth Social “Praise Be To Allah” post. These MAGA cat=fights couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.
Moving on to other Canadian news:

Now that things in the Middle East and in the United States are going to shit for Trump, they seem to think they can gin up a winning election message with another “war” against Greenland or Canada or both.

Two anniversaries worth remembering:
