Reaching our gag limit with ICE and Trump

Today, we saw tragedy in Minneapolis and war-mongering by Trump and his administration.

The world has reached its gag limit with Trump, and maybe even Americans are fed up too.

Minneapolis
So you all know what happened in Minneapolis today:

Google the video & see for yourself.

This is not law enforcement. This is murder.

Sickening.

Watch as ICE refuses to let a doctor render aid to Renee Nicole Good.

I know they’re trying to turn this shooting into Dealey Plaza with their desperate camera angles and excuses for the murderous ICE officer but how do they explain the subsequent refusal to allow a doctor to reach the car? And lying that they already had medics there? All on tape.

She was Renée Nicole Good, and she was a mum to a 6-year-old boy and a widow, so there is now a little boy who has lost his birth parents, and Good’s partner is now a widow who has to keep it together … because the most important woman in their lives was killed over nothing by a paramilitary force.

A victim of obsessive high-control politics, cosplaytriot cowboy fantasies, white supremacy, and Nazism.

Donna Ganger told the Minnesota Star Tribune that her daughter lived in the Twin Cities with her partner. In a joint statement, several Minneapolis City Council members confirmed she lived in the city.

Ganger said the family was notified of the death late Wednesday morning.

“That’s so stupid” that she was killed, Ganger said, after learning some of the circumstances from a reporter. “She was probably terrified.”

… An Instagram account that appears to be Good’s describes her as a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado; experiencing Minneapolis, MN.”

Good had previously been married to Timmy Ray Macklin Jr., who died in 2023 at the age of 36. Macklin’s father, Timmy Ray Macklin Sr., was shocked to hear the news that Good had been shot and killed.

He said Good and his son had a child who is now 6 years old. “There’s nobody else in his life,” Macklin Sr. said. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come and get my grandchild.”

How many months did the Trump administration insist, with manufactured evidence, that Kilmar Armando Ábrego García absolutely deserved to be imprisoned at CECOT?
So now I expect they will insist, with fantasy evidence, that Renee Nicole Good absolutely deserved to be killed.

Just saw MSNOW broadcast of protestors burning a US flag in Minneapolis.
I haven’t seen Americans so angry at their federal government since the Vietnam War protests in the 60s.

On Wednesday night there were huge protests

Thousands of protesters and community members with candles gathered in Minneapolis at the site where 37 y/o Renee Nicole Good was killed by ICE. Thousands are chanting “F ICE,” calling for justice and accountability as protests continue to grow.

Venuezuela and Greenland
Also on Wednesday, I think the world demonstrated it finally understood what the United States has done in Venezuela and wants to do in Greenland:

Finally, Canada got its shit together:

It’s all happening. The world is shifting. Canada joins Europe in defending Greenland.

Shankar Narayan / The Concis

Greenland Saved: For Now
Time for the next drive to secure fragile peace conditions.
…The global democratic world came into alignment in the last 24 to 48 hours. European leaders, the Greenland and Denmark administrations, American, Canadian, and European voters, and elected GOP representatives — all moved into a single file. In doing so, they isolated the MAGA extremists who were running an elaborate test to see whether they could push the Greenland button and excavate a usable propaganda path….

Narayan goes on to explain how the Senate electoral map was instrumental in splitting GOP support for invading Greenland. He concludes:

…There is exactly zero percent chance that the Trump administration retires this issue permanently. That is not going to happen. There will be a pause — but do not mistake that pause for relief.
Once Putin is neutralized, Greenland becomes the last remaining lever for the oligarchs: a pressure point to fracture NATO, further isolate the United States, and prime the alliance for extraction and plunder. That outcome is not good for Europe. And it would be extremely bad news for the United Kingdom.
Which is why the joint statement by European leaders — and the support that followed immediately from Canada and the Scandinavian countries — mattered. No one wasted time. The Trump administration tried to stir the pot; within 48 hours, a coordinated global, non-escalatory response was mounted. The attempt to isolate Greenland failed. Instead, the instigators found themselves isolated.
Europe cannot afford to stop here. Arctic security trended across the West yesterday because you pushed it there. Now is the moment to keep it in the headlines and dismantle the “security vacuum” narrative piece by piece, before it can be revived….

I think the shooting of Renee Good will go down in history as the moment when a lot of Americans woke up:
