RCB vs CSK, IPL 2026: 5 players to watch in today’s game

The much-anticipated southern derby is moments away as defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Chennai Super Kings in an exciting IPL 2026 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

RCB head into the contest high on confidence after winning their opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In contrast, five-time champions CSK have endured a tough start, losing both their matches so far.

Who will come out on top in this high-voltage clash?

As the two heavyweights gear up for battle, here are five players to watch:

Virat Kohli (RCB)

RCB fans flock to the stadium to witness one man — Virat Kohli. The backbone of the franchise since the IPL’s inception, Kohli remains a nightmare for bowlers whether setting or chasing a target. He looked in sublime touch in the opener against SRH, scoring an unbeaten 69 in RCB’s six-wicket win. The hosts will once again rely on him to lead from the front.

Shivam Dube (CSK)

Shivam Dube’s explosive form was instrumental in India’s T20 World Cup triumph. Though he had a quiet start this season with just 6 against Rajasthan Royals, he bounced back with an unbeaten 45 versus Punjab Kings. With CSK searching for their first win, Dube’s role will be crucial.

Jacob Duffy (RCB)

The New Zealand pacer was the star of RCB’s opening win, claiming Player of the Match honours with figures of 3/22. He dismantled SRH’s top order by removing Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Nitish Kumar Reddy inside the Powerplay. RCB will hope Duffy continues his impressive form.

Sanju Samson (CSK)

Sanju Samson’s move to CSK grabbed headlines, but his campaign has started on a disappointing note. He managed just 6 against Rajasthan Royals and 7 against Punjab Kings. CSK will be eager for Samson to rediscover his rhythm, especially in a big game like this.

Ayush Mhatre (CSK)

The Under-19 World Cup-winning captain showed promise after a slow start. Following a duck in the opener, Mhatre bounced back with a fluent 73 against Punjab Kings. CSK will look to the young batter for another impactful performance against RCB.
