Quinta Brunson arrived at the 57th annual NAACP Image Awards on Saturday in Los Angeles, dressed in a crochet star gown by Gabriela Hearst.

Named “Yeshara,” the multicolored, cashmere dress was plucked straight from the brand’s spring 2026 collection and is said to pay homage to “L’Étoile XVII of the Major Arcana of the Tarot de Marseille,” according to the description online.

While the floor-length gown, handcrafted by Madres & Artesanas in Bolivia, was modeled with two dusty-brown spaghetti straps on the runway, Brunson appeared to remove them for the red carpet, leaving her neckline bare. With the bold brown, white, burnt orange and red star pattern wrapping her body, her accessories were reduced to two silver rings on her pointer fingers.

For makeup, the comedian and actress opted for ’90s-inspired glam, with a subtle shimmer shadow on the lids, flirty lashes, brown liner and a light layer of gloss on the lips. Meanwhile, her chocolate-colored hair was styled in a choppy mullet with micro bangs.

The playful aesthetic was a far cry from Brunson’s recent red carpet looks, which have been strictly achromatic. That said, she’s always had an affinity for animal prints — leopard, tiger, snakeskin, she’s donned them all.

On Thursday at the NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors, Brunson received the award for Outstanding Character Voice Performance – Motion Picture for her role in “Zootopia 2.” Other nominees in the category included Anthony Mackie, Craig Robinson, Danielle Brooks and Lil Rel Howery. Brunson has been nominated at the NAACP Image Awards for the last three years. From 2023 to 2025, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, which she’s also up for tonight, thanks to her performance in “Abbott Elementary.”
