Puma and Nahmias Fetes Motorsport-inspired Capsule Collection

Nahmias and Puma feted the two brands’ collaborative capsule collection, inspired by motorsport, on Thursday night in Los Angeles. Held at K1 Speed, the event featured go-kart racing with displays of pieces from the capsule.

VIP guests and special celebrity attendees at Thursday night’s event included Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet, Anastasia Karanikolaou, Victoria Villarroel, Sofia Roman, Carter Gregory, Cazzie David, Chase Hudson and Devon Carlson, among others. Fashion designer and Nahmias founder Doni Nahmias also attended the event.

Released the same day exclusively on the emerging luxury menswear brand’s official website, Nahmias’ collaboration with Puma marked the second drop in the ongoing relationship between the two brands. The collaboration was initially teased as part of the Nahmias runway show during Paris Fashion Week last January, following a first release of the Puma and Nahmias Suede sneakers.

Puma and Nahmias motorsport-inspired launch is further emphasized in a campaign featuring Charles LeClerc, a Formula 1 driver and friend of Nahmias and Puma ambassador.

“Seeing two of my favorite brands collaborating on a joint collection is amazing. Proud to be part of it and happy to see this coming to life,” Leclerc said in a statement previously shared with Footwear News.

The capsule merges Southern California’s heritage along with Puma’s longtime history in racing and sport, with a capsule collection that includes a refreshed Speedcat sneaker design and elevated pieces of apparel from a motorsport-inspired track set, along with washed T-shirt, and knit jerseys.

“We were able to blend our California-rooted aesthetic with a silhouette that’s already marked its place in sneaker history,” Nahmias previously said to FN. “The goal was to bring new Nahmias codes into the sneaker while still respecting the legacy of the Suede.”
